PROJECT BRIEF

Oversee the production of NBMRF’s annual review, including copywriting, editing, proofreading, and graphic design and printing (by a third party).

NBMRF offers fellowships and grants to support medical practitioners’ clinical research into diseases and conditions that affect women and babies.

NBMRF engaged Red Pony to coordinate the foundation’s annual report for the 2023–24 financial year.

To capture the breadth and depth of the research being financed by the foundation, Red Pony interviewed the 5 current fellowship recipients.

These interviews explored the complexities of the research being undertaken and the positive outcomes it is producing for pregnant women, new mothers and their babies.

The interviews were written up as separate narratives that would form the centrepiece of the report.

Red Pony then developed an outline for the CEO and the Chair to draft their introductory messages. These were further refined to produce the final version. Red Pony formatted the content using our customised Microsoft Word annual report template.

Red Pony engaged brand strategy and graphic design studio Stuart Pettigrew Design (SPD) to provide the final layout and coordinate printing services. SPD was involved from the early stages of the project to develop design concepts and integrate the foundation’s existing branding into the layout.

Red Pony proofread the report once all content had been integrated into the design layout as a final quality assurance check before it was approved for printing and distribution.

The published document represented a step-change in content and design from previous iterations and was received very positively by the foundation and its members.

We were most impressed by the quick turnaround and how well [Red Pony] took constructive feedback on board.
— Heena Hilbert, Executive Assistant to the CEO, NBMRF
