PROJECT BRIEF
Copyedit content for a series of online resources for local government.
Context
VicHealth is a pioneer in health promotion, working to enable people to increase control over and improve their health. Its primary focus is promoting good health and preventing chronic disease.
VicHealth developed the Place-Based Resource Hub to support councils and their community partners in undertaking place-based health and wellbeing work. The hub offers guides, learning modules, topic toolkits, case studies and articles.
Execution
Red Pony was engaged by the VicHealth project team to review, format and edit the hub content, which totalled 130,000 words over 30 documents.
In consultation with VicHealth, Red Pony developed a custom template for contributors to use in the creation of each document. The template established a navigable information hierarchy and consistent use of headings and other styling elements so that draft information could be easily and accurately formatted within the web publishing tool.
Draft documents created by multiple authors across a period of several months were subsequently copyedited by the Red Pony team. We identified structural improvements as well as errors while also ensuring that the content was internally consistent, clear and accessible. The information was edited so that each resource document could be understood and applied individually while forming a coherent whole.
Outcome
Over an 11-month period, Red Pony supported the project through all stages of content development.
VicHealth were able to launch the Place-Based Resource Hub on schedule to provide councils with a range of practical resources to support place-based health and wellbeing work in their local community.
