Templates and user manual

Climate Change Authority

PROJECT BRIEF

Create a suite of Microsoft Office document templates and an accompanying user manual.

The Climate Change Authority (CCA) is an independent statutory authority established under the Climate Change Authority Act 2011 (Cth) to provide expert advice on Australian climate change policy.

The CCA regularly publishes major reports and reviews on matters relating to climate change, such as government climate policy, economic implications and emissions reduction technologies.

The CCA engaged Red Pony to design a suite of Microsoft Office templates for internal and public-facing documents and presentations.

Red Pony designed a Microsoft Word report template with a full set of formatting styles, including heading hierarchy, body text, tables, bullet lists, numbered lists, figure captions, headers and footers, table of contents and appendices.

This invaluable tool ensures that reports comply with CCA’s visual style at a consistently high standard, achieved with minimal investment of cost and time, without the need to engage a graphic designer. Documents developed with the template can be published online in Word or PDF, or printed in hard copy.

The document suite includes an in-house Word template to deliver consistently structured and formatted correspondence and other internal documents. A PowerPoint template ensures that all presentations follow the CCA visual style, are clear and visually engaging.

The templates are protected to limit changes to the approved styles, preventing users from accidentally copying across styles and formatting from other documents.

Instructions in the template are formatted as hidden text so that they do not appear in the final version of the document.

Red Pony also prepared a user manual to support CCA staff to use the templates.
