PROJECT BRIEF
Coordinate the 2021 WSA Co annual report, including project management, writing, copyediting and proofreading.
WSA Co was established by the Australian Government to develop and operate Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.
As a Government Business Enterprise, WSA Co provides an annual financial report aligned with the Australian Accounting Standards Board Standards and Interpretations, the International Financial Reporting Standards, the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (Cth).
WSA Co first engaged Red Pony to help produce the 2021 annual report, which needed to comply with complex reporting requirements while also serving as an important marketing tool for this nationally significant project.
The first steps were to design a comprehensive report structure and develop a project schedule with deadlines for sourcing information and completing formal approvals.
Red Pony then created a custom Microsoft Word template to collate, format and edit the report content as it was developed. Twice-weekly meetings with the WSA Co project team kept the project on track.
Once a final draft was completed, Red Pony conducted a thorough copyedit to produce a clear, accurate and readable report in a consistently formatted Word document for WSA Co’s internal design team to lay out. A custom style sheet was created to record editorial decisions and ensure that style and language conventions were applied consistently.
Once the final draft of the report was approved, Red Pony uploaded its contents to the Australian Government’s Transparency Portal.
Red Pony has now been involved in the production of every WSA Co annual report since 2021, along with other documents, including the annual corporate plan and 2025–45 Airport Master Plan.
